Dr. Hyung Joon Yoon (huy114@psu.edu) is an associate professor of Workforce Education and Development at Penn State University. He is also Professor-in-Charge of the Workforce Education and Development program that has bachelor's, master’s, and Ph.D. programs. Dr. Yoon strives to facilitate the career development of employees through research, theory building, training, and consulting. He co-developed Hope-Action Theory (HAT), a new theory that is being used internationally. He also developed the Human Agency-Based Individual Transformation (HABIT) model based on Albert Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory of Human Agency (SCTHA). He co-authored three books including International Practices of Career Services, Credentials, and Training, Career Recovery, and Career Flow and Development. He was awarded an NCDA Fellow status by the National Career Development Association (NCDA) for his significant contribution to the career development profession through his research, teaching, and leadership. He is currently serving as Associate Editor of Human Resource Development Review.
