Valerie Anderson, MSc, PhD, is Professor of HRD and Education at the University of Portsmouth (UK). She is a committed researcher-practitioner who specialises in learning and development in work organisations. She was formerly the Co-Editor of Human Resource Development Quarterly and is a member of the Editorial Board of many AHRD sponsored journals. Her research interests include coaching, employability, doctoral pedagogy and digital pedagogy. Valerie is Co-Chair of the University Forum for HRD and a member of British Academy of Management’s Research Methods and Management Knowledge and Education SIGs and a member of the Society for Research in Higher Education. In her work as a Business School scholar, she has undertaken studies focused on standards and standardization in the HRD field and on the development of Professional Education in the HRD field.
