Dr. Huang’s work delineates decision-making scaffolds and barriers in broadly-defined learning and performance contexts. His goal is to understand how individuals and organizations make decisions, in order to design environments that can facilitate informed decision-making processes. Dr. Huang’s scholarly activities are also focused on informing practice through research. Specifically his research aims at exploring and validating empirical relationships among factors that could influence individuals’ and organizations’ willingness and capabilities in adopting changes across various interventions. His ongoing research includes (1) organizational decision-making attributes on technology innovations, (2) design of game-based learning environments for effective learning engagement, (3) cognitive load manipulations in multimedia learning, (4) development of ethical decision-making capacities among evaluation professionals, and (5) career development needs assessment and intervention design.
