Mitigating Urban Informal Sector Vulnerability in Developing economies: Role of HRD in Building Better after the Pandemic

Abstract: HRD research following COVID predominantly focused on the organized sector and rarely explored the challenges of people engaged in the informal economy. Neither have we as a community examined what HRD could contribute to mitigate the vulnerabilities of workers engaged in the informal sector. Therefore, we intend to assemble a panel of HRD researchers with expertise in CHRD and NHRD to discuss the role of HRD in building back better after the pandemic. We focus mainly on reducing urban informal sector vulnerability in developing nations and attempt to inspire HRD publications that will inform national policies in the developing world.
